Estimator 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Estimator is responsible for reviewing project plans and specifications to develop accurate cost estimates for competitive bids and conceptual budgeting. This role also supports project teams on construction management (CM) projects by developing realistic and attainable budgets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Prepare project information sheets and distribute to relevant parties 
  • Solicit subcontractor bids to ensure complete and competitive estimates 
  • Coordinate bid submission activities to ensure timely delivery 
  • Analyze project plans to identify cost-effective construction methods while meeting profit objectives 
  • Coordinate estimates with the project management team 
  • Prepare phase reports within 5 days of receiving project documents 
  • Ensure bid forms, insurance, and bonding requirements are complete and accurate 
  • Communicate any project risks or concerns to management 
  • Develop detailed and accurate estimates starting from phase reports 
  • Perform quantity take-offs to support subcontractor discussions 
  • Promote subcontractor engagement through verbal and written communication 
  • Submit bids on time and in accordance with requirements 
  • Maintain and develop relationships with subcontractors 
  • Identify and onboard new subcontractors as needed 
  • Monitor material pricing trends and market changes 
  • Maintain subcontractor and supplier databases 
  • Issue bid invitations to subcontractors and suppliers 
  • Provide management reports as required 
  • Support project managers as needed 
  • Facilitate smooth handoff of awarded projects to operations teams

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
