Position Overview
As the Manager – Safety, Health, Environmental, you’ll utilize your skills and knowledge to your highest ability to create, deploy, and maintain a continuously evolving safety culture. This exciting position as a Safety Manager will be instrumental in provides training, incident management, and overall safety support of our teams as they provide service to our customers’ equipment in the field.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Promote a culture of trust, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the organization 
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures tailored to high velocity oil flushing and chemical cleaning operations and other industrial services.
  • Manage direct to customer and third-party pre-qualifications sites and accounts. 
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits at job sites, facilities, and during field operations to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Lead incident investigations, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Deliver safety training and education sessions for team members, including hazard communication, chemical handling, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and emergency response.
  • Ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping of safety meetings, incidents, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Stay current with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety regulations, and ensure company compliance.
  • Coordinate with management, project leadership, and technicians to integrate safety into all aspects of operations.
  • Manage the selection, maintenance, and inventory of safety equipment and supplies.
  • Act as the primary contact for safety-related matters with clients, regulatory agencies, and emergency responders.
 
Qualifications & Experience
  • EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent with applicable industry certification(s), or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or other advanced degrees are preferred.
  • Experience:
  • 8+ years of experience with in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other applicable safety regulations.
  • Experience in developing and conducting safety training programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) are preferred.
  • Ability to travel to job sites as needed.

    • Strong computer software skills, including but not limited to, MS Office Suite, Visio and Adobe Acrobat.

  • Work Environment Requirements
    • Attendance on a regular, consistent basis is mandatory 
      • Working hours: Flexible (w/ required core timeframe, supporting various time zones).
    • Ability to work in industrial and shipboard environments with exposure to chemicals and lubricants.
    • Willingness to travel to project sites including DOD vessels, nuclear and industrial facilities, client locations and industry events, as required.
    • Adherence to strict safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment is mandatory, as required.
    • Adherence to strict cybersecurity protocols is mandatory, as required.  
    • Physical Requirements:
      • Vision: minimum vision required to prevent injury from oneself and others 
      • Hearing: perceiving the nature of sounds with or without correction 
      • Talking: expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word 
      • Lifting small, weighed objects constantly; 20-pound objects frequently and 25-50-pound objects occasionally 
      • Climbing ladders, stairs and ramps 
      • Balancing, pushing and pulling 
      • Crouching, kneeling, reaching and grasping objects 
      • Walking: move about inside the office and/or branch facilities as well as airport/travel needs 
      • Sit/Stand: Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50 percent of the time
