We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Solar PV/BESS Designer to join a growing renewable energy organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing accurate and professional designs for residential, commercial, and utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. This role combines technical expertise, creativity, and a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and industry codes.
Key Responsibilities
System Design & Layout: Develop detailed, site-specific electrical and structural designs for PV and BESS systems, including single-line and three-line diagrams, equipment layouts, and wiring schematics.
Engineering Analysis: Perform system sizing, energy yield modeling, and equipment selection aligned with project requirements, site conditions, and budgets.
Software Utilization: Use design platforms such as AutoCAD, Helioscope, PVsyst, or similar tools to produce complete and compliant design packages.
Code & Standards Compliance: Ensure all designs meet applicable electrical and building codes (e.g., NEC) and utility interconnection requirements.
Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and maintain detailed design documentation, bills of materials, and technical specifications.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, sales teams, and field personnel to ensure design accuracy and support successful project execution.
Technical Support: Provide troubleshooting and design clarification during installation and commissioning stages.
Qualifications
Education:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., NABCEP PV Design Specialist) are a plus.
Experience: Demonstrated experience designing solar PV and/or energy storage systems across residential, commercial, or utility-scale projects. Familiarity with grid-tied, off-grid, and hybrid configurations is essential.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of electrical systems, power electronics, and energy storage technologies. Proficiency with design and modeling software tools required.
Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational abilities. Proven capacity to manage multiple design projects and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
