Position Overview
The Field Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales growth within an assigned territory/industry by identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and delivering tailored service solutions. This role requires a proactive, self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills, a knack for cold calling, and the ability to manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to project completion
Key Responsibilities
  • Prospecting & Lead Generation: Conduct research to identify sales targets, including contractors, maintenance managers, plant managers, and reliability engineers. Perform cold calling to introduce lubricant services and schedule introductory meetings.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, to foster trust and long-term partnerships.
  • Sales Process Management: Manage the entire sales cycle, from initial contact and needs assessment to securing purchase orders and presenting project results to clients.
  • CRM Management: Enter leads into the CRM system, track progress, and follow up on projects to ensure timely advancement through the sales pipeline.
  • Equipment Inspections: Perform on-site equipment inspections to assess client needs and recommend appropriate lubricant service solutions.
  • Budget & Planning: Collaborate with management to build and plan the annual territory sales budget, setting achievable goals and strategies.
  • Travel: Conduct regular travel within the assigned territory, including overnight stays as required, to meet with clients and prospects.
Qualifications & Experience
  • EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent with applicable industry certification(s)or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or other advanced degrees are preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of outside sales experience, preferably in the industrial, manufacturing, or lubrication services sector
    • Familiarity with CRM software (SalesForce, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)
    • Knowledge of industrial equipment maintenance and reliability practices
  • Skills:
    • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with clients and present solutions.
    • Cold Calling: Demonstrated proficiency in cold calling and generating new business leads.
    • Relationship Management: Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with diverse stakeholders.
    • Research Skills: Strong ability to research and identify potential sales targets within the industrial sector.
    • Organizational Skills: Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate CRM records.
    • Technical Aptitude: Comfortable performing equipment inspections and discussing technical solutions with maintenance and engineering professionals.
  • Work Environment Requirements
    • Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory, including overnight stays
    • Adherence to strict safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment, as required, is mandatory
  • Capable of conduction on-site equipment inspections, which may involve standing, walking, or climbing in industrial environments
